Wanted: Scientific Programmer




The Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, a multidisplinary research
center for Climate and Earth system modeling located in Hamburg,
Germany, is opening a position for a scientific programmer in support
of the atmospheric chemistry modeling group with the following
responsabilities:

Development of chemistry modules for a global general circulation
model and coupling of a chemistry transport model into this system;
creation and management of model input data, and postprocessing and
visualisation of model output. Candidates are required to have
excellent programming skills (FORTRAN90, IDL) and to be familiar with
atmospheric modeling.

The position can be filled immediately. Salary (BAT IIa to I) depends
on qualification and experience. The appointment is initially limited
to 3 years; applications for shorter time periods will also be
considered.
