Here is the students' presentation SCHEDULE. Notice that LT=long talk 25min talking + 5min discussion. ,another format that appeared spontaneously is something which we can call Short Chalk Talk.(SCT)During which one gives a talk about half anhourwithout the use of transparencies or prior preparation.ST=short talk 20min talking + 5min discussion.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: On Oct 20 I announced in class that as a part of the written component of this course I will require anabstract of your short talk, after your short talk. For the previous talks before this announcement we will adopt a strict deadline of DECEMBER 8, the date of the last short talk.

- CLASS 11; November 17 1998. this week there are noclass student speakers we can take this oppurtunity to discuss the contents of one of the recommended books: Strunk and White"the elements of style3rd edition McMillan,there should be a copy of it on reserve of the physics library.On November 18 I called the bookstore about the Strunk and White book and ordered 10 copies.they told me that they also have some already in stock;you can purchase it according to your desire and estimated usage.
