Hi thanks so far for comments and statements. The answer was simple and I got it after some coffee and finally a glass of beer. The file was saved in UNIX format and I use a wintel PC. My Editor (Ultraedit) does convert the LF ... automatically, so I did not realize this phenomen initially. After conversion towards DOS-Format all works fine for me. Thanks again Good luck Frank
