With IDL 5.2 and windows 98, it's OK :

For basic information, enter "IDLInfo" at the IDL> prompt.

IDL> filelist=Dialog_pickfile(/read,/multiple_files)
IDL> print, filelist
C:\JeanLuc\Drone carte DSP.vsd
