Commercial software packages for PPC/Linux seem to be rare.

Perhaps a worthwhile project for someone would be to write
an x86/Linux emulator for PPC/Linux.  Not me.

If you're looking for statistics software, one notable
exception is Stata ( www.stata.com ) their commercial software
is available under both x86 and PPC Linux.  Stata's graphics
don't hold a candle to IDL, tho.
